Air Bags For 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 w/ 6-1/2' Bed Compatible With B&W Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

2017 Silverado 1500 4x4 6.5 ft bed. We have a turn over ball bandw gooseneck hitch. We are looking for an air bag kit for the rear suspension to level the truck while towing but many are not compatible with gooseneck. Do you have any that are compatible or could be easily modified with basic welding drilling tools and a competent mechanic.

Hi Ken,

Happy to help you out here as there is an air bag kit that will fit your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6-1/2' bed and the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1057 installed. What you'll need are air bags from Air Lift:

- Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57204

These are designed to be used with an in-bed hitch, and the directions (linked below) actually have specifics for installing them in a truck with an in-bed hitch. The directions refer to them as "fifth wheel brackets" but that also means gooseneck brackets.

So these will work to help level out your Chevy's rear suspension while towing, and the only other thing I recommend considering is a compressor to make it much easier to monitor and maintain your air bags. For that, use a wireless compressor, the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL74000EZ.
