Question:
I want to order a hitch for my prius to carry a couple bikes or a very small/light trailer. I ordered from you before and have been very pleased. I would appreciate your help answering my questions so I can make a decision on which part would best suit my needs. So, I am trying to determine which to order Code: C11276 or 24847 and I have some questions: What are your thoughts on round VS square tubes ? What are the weights of these two products is one lighter than the other and therefore not as strong? What are the warranties for these two products? What does hitch does not allow use of weight distributions mean and does that apply to both of these products? I appreciate your time and your answers will ensure I order the correct part from you. thank you

There are pros and cons to both the Curt Hitch part # C11276 that you referenced and the Draw Tite Hitch part # 24847. If you are planning on using this hitch for carrying a cargo carrier or a bike rack I would go with the Draw Tite. Curt requires the use of a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 any time you carry a bike rack or a cargo carrier.
Draw Tite does not have that stipulation so I would lean that way. Both of these hitches have the same 200 lbs tongue weight and 2,000 lbs trailer weight capacities, the Draw-tite is about 11 lbs lighter than the Curt. This does not mean it is weaker though. The weight ratings for these hitches would dictate that they are equally strong.
Round tube hitches tend to be slightly less visible than square tube hitches. I wouldn't let this influence you too much since either hitch will be largely out of plain sight. Both hitches have limited lifetime warranties.
Weight distributions systems are used on larger vehicles generally to help distribute the weight of a heavy trailer to the front axle of the tow vehicle for a better towing experience. I attached an FAQ for more info on these systems.
