Should Hopkins Tail Light Converter HM48895 Make Brake Lights Override The Turn Signals?

Question:
So I bought the Hopkins 48895 since the truck I was working on had separate brake light and turn signals. Needed to hardwire up an under tailgate light strip that couldnt be plugged into the trailer plug because the truck had too much smart stuff on it and kept thinking a trailer was connected and would pull up trailer info on the dash board and disable some features. So when the strip was plugged into the trailer plug left or right would blink with the turn signal and the other side would stay lit if you were on the brake like it should. However after wiring in this to the tail lights with separate turn and stop. When you hit the brakes both sides on the strip light up for stop even if one of the tail light is blinking for turn. Everything else work as it should by itself. Left turn, right turn, running light, brake light. But the brake light red wiretruck side on this adapter seems to send power to both greentrailer side and yellowtrailer side even if its getting a blinking power from the green or yellow in the truck side. Is this how its supposed to work or is something wrong? So its not just sending constant power to the one taillight on the trailer end thats not blinking, its send constant power to both of them which doesnt allow the trailer side to blink when pressing the brakes.

That is not correct. The Hopkins # HM48895 should not be overriding the turn signals when the brakes are applied.
I would just for the heck of it doublecheck the wires on the truck that you spliced into for the turn signals, and brake signal, as there's usually more than one that have power on modern vehicles, but only one that has power that works as a blinker/brake light.
If that all checks out, you'll want to start a warranty claim with whoever you purchased the harness from, I do not see any purchase info tied to your email address.
