can the hitch be strong enough to pull riding mower and other lawn service equipement

Helpful Expert Reply:
There are Class I and Class II trailer hitches available for your 2001 Ford Taurus. The Class II trailer hitches are going to have a higher capacity and thus be stronger than the Class I options. Based on that I recommend going with a Class II hitch # C12232.
The hitch itself is rated for 300 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight. But consult the vehicles owners manual for the vehicle towing capacity and if lower, go by the lower of the two ratings.
For a ball mount use # 36061. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring use # 118375 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the back of the Taurus. I have linked videos showing how the hitch and wiring install.
