How Tight Should The Demco Autoslide Slide Assembly Bolt Be Torqued To

Question:

Have a 21000 auto slide, How tight should the bolt be that holds the gear and slide together. Took it apart to clean not sure how much to torque.

Hey Mark,

I spoke with Demco and they stated that the 5/8" bolt that runs from the upper slide assembly through shaft on the main gear to the bottom side would need to be torqued to 50ft/lbs. He also recommended using some blue Loctite # LT37643 on the bolt to ensure that vibration doesn't cause the bolt to loosen. If you're lubing up the slide on your Autoslide # DM29GV then you'll want to make sure to use lithium grease # L11354 to avoid attracting dirt/debris that could bind it up.
