Is there a magnet kit for the 8k axles

The brake assemblies that are on your 8k Dexter axles most would be the Dexter Electric Brake Assembly # 23-435, the replacement brake magnets for this assembly would be the Replacement Magnet Kit # BP01-301.

What is the Rule-of-Thumb or Significance between the Yellow and White wire magnets.

Typically the yellow wire is used on Dexter magnets that are for higher capacity assemblies (think 8K on the low end and up to 10K on the higher end). Since the magnets themselves are similar (visually) it's an easy way to quickly look at one and determine what type it is.
