Question:
I installed a Hayes energize 3+trailer brake controller amd installed everything according to instructions. Tested with trailer and everything worked good. After that i noticed the led on the controller was not coming on when brake a applied no trailer connected. Used the emergency push on the controller and led will light up. Tapped on controller and led working with brakes applied now. We had ome ran recently and now my controller led light is turning on with the turn signals. Led is brighter with right turn and very dim with left turn. I used heat shrink on all splices at the trailer connection harness also with easy to hard braking the led will not slowly get bright but goes from dimm to full bright. Not sure were to start.

This is quite strange so I'm not quite sure what the problem would be either. Since you used the # HA81794-HBC for installation I doubt anything with your installation is the problem. However, it wouldn't hurt to unplug the connectors and plug them back in to make sure they are seated properly.
I suppose there could be some kind of short in the wiring allowing power to transfer over and back to the brake controller triggering the LED light but that seems like a pretty slim chance. With the turn signal on you could check for power on the wires with a circuit tester # PTW2993 and try to identify where it is coming from with your turn signal.
If you can't identify the issue with testing I would say it is an internal issue and you should go ahead and replace it under the 5-year warranty. Since you got it through us we can handle the warranty claim for you if you call customer service.
