Question:

Hello! I have a 2020 Jeep Renegade, with roof rails. I also have 2 200 watt solar panels, Id like to mount them to the top of the Jeep. What would you guys recommend for crossbars/mounting systems?

The Malone SteelTop Roof Rack # MPG203 you were looking at could work. Since you're going to be driving around with solar panels mounted on top you don't really need to worry about keeping wind noise down with fancy crossbars.

These have a capacity of 165 lbs which should be plenty. Make sure you check the capacity of your roof since you will be limited by whichever is lower. As for mounting, we don't have anything specifically designed for these crossbars. Since they're fairly cost effective you might consider drilling for a permanent mounting solution.

If you really want them to be secure it is best to use a platform rack. We do have the Front Runner Slimline II Platform Rack # FR55FV which would be perfect for this but a significant investment. This can be used with the Universal Solar Panel Mounting Brackets for Front Runner # FR27FB to mount your panels on the platform.
