We bought a 2023 huyandai elantra and need a 1 and a quarter hitch and cant find a disability scooter trailer for the 1 and a quarter hitch what can we do

You're likely not going to find one Stephen, because there's a really high chance that your scooter plus a carrier is going to overload your hitch. This is because typically class I hitches are only going to have about a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, so the weight of the two would be too much.

But, depending on how large your scooter is something like the 20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches # 63155 could possibly work.

This cargo carrier has a 300 lb capacity, will work with class I hitches, and only weighs 43 lbs so in theory as long as your scooter physically fits and weighs less than 157 lbs (assuming a 200 lb tongue weight), this could be an option.
