Best Way To Get Stay-IN-Play Vacuum Line Thru Firewall On A Fiat 500
Updated 03/18/2024 | Published 03/16/2024 >
Question:
I almost ready to purchase a Stay and Play Duo aux braking system for my 2013 Fiat 500 POP. However, Ive watched the video on this and am trying to get clarification on running the Brake actuator vacuum hose through the firewall. At 9 mins the video shows the vacuum line and the Gforce controller wiring going through the driver’s side firewall. It looks as if the carpet is peeled back to get to some type of hole. My question is if there is a naturally accruing hole in the firewall or was it drilled?

Hey Leehan, that is a great question. I double checked with our installers, and I was told that the hole used on this 2012 Fiat 500 was naturally occurring and not drilled. There was a hole located above/left of the gas pedal. If you pull back the carpet/insulation, you should see a plugged hole that can be used for the vacuum line and wiring for the Domco SMI Stay-IN-Play # SM99251. Unfortunately, we do not have any photos or videos showing the exact location.
That said, this was on a 2012 model and not a 2015 so I cannot 100% guarantee the same hole will be there. We have had reports that other model years do have the same hole, so it "should" be there. Otherwise, a new hole will have to be drilled.
