Troubleshooting Red And Blue Flashing Light On Blue Ox Patriot Brake System

Question:

trouble setting blue ox brake brake fully extends then red and blue lights flash at same time. it takes numerous attempts to set before solid green .. this is a new problem after a year use

Hello Gerry. A blue and red light on the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR means there is too much pressure on the brake pedal. Try to see if you can move the unit back from the pedal until the lights start blinking blue and green in sequence. Try to adjust the push pads up or down to get better contact with the drivers seat, making sure the back of the brake unit is resting against the front of the drivers seat.

You could've hit a bump in the road that knocked it around and is causing the load cell to detect pressure when it shouldn't. If the issue persists I do suggest you reach out directly to Blue Ox.

First question I am having a problem getting the brake to set up ,, first question, I have the brake hooked up. Do I need the tow vehicle to Motorhome plug hooked up to troubleshoot?

@Jan No, not necessarily since the brake unit is powered by the towed vehicle battery. Are you setting up a new Patriot unit? What problems is it giving you? Let me know.
