Will Rapid Hitch Adjustable Aluminum Ball Mount Kit Rattle When Towing
Published 02/29/2024 >
Question:
Does the ball mount “rattle” when installed in the draw bar? It looks as if the round pin holds it in place but if there is clearance it might make noise when towing? I would probably be using this part in its lowest or second to the lowest point for towing an enclosed trailer with under a 2000lb gross weight. Thank You

There is the potential for noise when using the Rapid Hitch Adjustable Aluminum Ball Mount Kit # AM3417. This is common for adjustable ball mounts since they have several moving parts. If there was no room for movement it would be too difficult to adjust. If you watch the review videos below you can hear the sound from that little bit of play when the ball mount is flipped over. Weight from the trailer will help reduce that unless you're on rough roads. I wouldn't expect it to be any more noticeable than the sounds from the coupler or safety chains rattling around while towing.
