Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Andersen aluminum Rapid Hitch with greaseless Alumiball two-ball mount for your 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver. This lightweight yet tough aluminum adjustable ball mount is designed for heavy-duty towing and this does feature Andersen's Alumiball that's greaseless to help keep things smooth and mess-free. It's made to stay smooth and easy to use so you spend less time cleaning and more time towing. And as I mentioned, this is made for your 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver and this mount is built for towing heavy loads.
So it's gonna be great for your boat trailers, your campers, your heavy-duty trailers, and a whole lot more. It comes with two ball sizes, so you've got your 2 inch ball and your 2 5/16 inch ball. You're gonna be able to easily swap between those ball sizes. And the gross towing capacity when you're using the 2 5/16 and inch ball is 12,500 pounds. The 2 inch ball is 10,000 pounds.
This has a maximum tongue weight of 1,500 pounds. So the mount is adjustable, allowing you to raise or lower the ball platform to match the height of your trailer. This is going to be especially useful if you tow trailers of different heights. You're gonna be able to tow those different trailers all with the same vehicle because of the adjustment this gives you. This is going to give you a maximum drop, or rise when you flip this over, of right about 10 inches.
And then you're gonna have an incremental height adjustment of 1 inch. So take a look at how easily the ball platform slides up and down the shank. I have it on the 2 inch ball. Let me go ahead and swap it over to the 2 5/16 inch ball. There is a pin inside of that ball platform that holds the combo ball in place in the platform.
So I'm just going to swap that over to the 2 5/16 inch ball. And I'm gonna try to line the holes up here. Let me put it up just another notch there, just so it holds a little more even on my turntable. So slide that pin right into place and then the clip will go right in as well. So what I hope you can see is you're not gonna be at the back of your truck, struggling to get the ball size or the height adjustment that you are looking for. So you're not gonna need any special tools to make that adjustment. This is of course, constructed of high-quality aluminum. It's going to resist rust and corrosion while being strong, yet lightweight. And in case you we inchesre wondering, the distance from the center of our hitch ball to the center of our hitch pin hole on center, we're sitting at about 9 1/4 inches. So if you're a truck owner who tows multiple trailers of different heights, if you're looking for a maintenance-free hitch with no greasing of the ball required, if you're looking just for a lightweight yet strong option for a ball mount that's adjustable or if you tow even, in frequently harsh conditions because of the aluminum build, the durable aluminum build, this is really gonna be a great option for you to consider. This was the perfect solution for the squatting issue I was having towing my new trailer with my SUV.
I like that it's aluminum so it's easy to move around and fast to set up. I got the Andersen locking bolts for security as well. I normally tow a 5th wheel but have an occasional need to tow conventional trailers so got this mount. For those who want to keep it installed, you can't flip around the balls on the inside because the mounting slots are only on the outside. That's not an issue for me because it's removed when not being used. All in all very happy with it
This product is really different with the all aluminum design. I wanted some
top rated hitch that won't rust up, even though other steel hitches are usually just experiencing surface rust. It has the numbers for towing I need and I don't know how anything could be improved.

SO I am adding my experience with this hitch after 1 year of use and it is working well and there are not negative comments to make about it. I would still give it 5 stars in all ways that means.
