Will The 2-Piece Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5 Fit a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited?

Question:

Is there any reason this wouldnt fit a 2016 Wrangler Unlimited? I like no crossbar. Thanks.

For your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited you are going to need the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-5. The crossbar integrated into this mount is required due to your chassis. On the newer JL Wrangles the Base Plate # RM-521453-5 you found is designed to fit the chassis has more strength and does not need the crossbar. I recommend pairing this with the Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-676.

The Roadmaster Accessory Kit # RM-9284-2, Wiring # HM56200, and Charge Line # RM-156-25 will contain the parts and wiring needed to protect your tow bar and utilize your tail lights to operate off your motorhome. Depending on if your motorhome as either Air Brakes # DM26VR or Hydraulic Brakes # DM86VR will decide which supplemental brake system is best for your Jeep.

You will want to measure the height of your receiver and compare it to the mounting tabs on the front of your Jeep. The tow bars need to be within 3" of level to reduce wear and tear on the tow bars. If they are not within 3" of level you will need one of the High-Low Adapters listed below.

4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-4
6" Rise/Drop # RM-048-6
8" Rise/Drop # RM-048-8
10-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-10
