Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For A Thomas Pusher School Bus

Question:

I am looking for a hitch that will attach to my school bus, a Thomas Pusher. The hitch will need to be able to haul a 4500 van on a trailer. What would you recommend?

Since there aren't any custom fit hitches available you'll just need to pick up a weld-on cut-to-fit hitch like the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990-07. This comes with brackets that provide a 7" drop but we also have a 16" drop available with part # 41990-16. The cross tube is 44" wide and both of these hitches have a 16,000lb capacity. You'll still be limited to the towing capacity of the bus though so you'll want to make sure that you aren't overloading it even though the hitch can handle more.
