Question:

determining width if i measure through the rim spokes and out to out is 6 inch would this be 5 inch rim set to set would be about 5 inch overall about 6

Wheel width is measured from bead seat to bead seat so you cannot accurately measure it without removing the tire first. Typically the overall width will be 1 inch greater than the internal width. So for Dexstar wheel # AM20522 the actual width is 6 inches but the overall would be closer to 7 inches.

Fora 15 inch wheel that would be 6 inches wide overall, 5 inches on the inside, with the same bolt pattern use # AM20422.I have linked a video that shows our resident tire and wheel expert going over how wheels are measured.
