This 15" x 6" steel wheel is made for serious trailer duty. It’s rated for 2,200 lbs and meets Department of Transportation standards, so it’s ready for the weight of a loaded cargo trailer or camper. The sturdy steel construction gives dependable strength when you’re hauling heavy gear or long distances on the highway.
Moisture and road grime can eat away at lesser finishes, but this wheel holds up thanks to its corrosion-resistant silver powder coat layered over an e-coat primer. That combination seals the metal against rust and oxidation, keeping the wheel looking sharp and lasting longer through rain, humidity, or salt exposure.
The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod has a common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, a pilot diameter of 3.19", and a zero offset. That means the wheel sits evenly over the hub with roughly equal spacing on each side—making backspacing just under 3". It’s compatible with standard 1/2"-20 wheel bolts for secure mounting.
The modular layout of this steel wheel gives even weight distribution and a stable ride feel once mounted. With a 6" width, it pairs well with popular trailer tire sizes like 205/75R-15 or 225/75R-15, offering solid contact with the road and a balanced stance for confident towing mile after mile.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Dexstar 15 inch by 6 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this wheel has a sturdy steel construction. We mentioned it's a modular design, and the modular design means it's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. This wheel has excellent corrosion resistance. It uses a two-step finishing process, which includes first an e-coat primer and then a silver powder coat finish.
Now, this is a high-quality wheel, does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications. If you notice the center cap is not included, we do sell those separately. If you do want a center cap, you do wanna get one that has the same diameter as this pilot hole because when you install it, it will go through this hole. Pilot hole diameter right here is 3.19 inches. Now, this wheel is made by Dexstar, which means it's made in the USA.
A few dimensions on this we're gonna measure is the diameter and the width. And when you measure the diameter, what you're gonna measure is the inside to inside measurement. What that is, is the tire beads, when the tires put on here, the beads of the tire are gonna sit right here. So when you measure, you're measuring from tire bead seat to bead seat. So inside to inside, if we put a tape measure on it, you can see there's your 15 inch diameter.
Same way on the width, we're gonna measure inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat, six inches for the width. And the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you we inchesre to measure that on a wheel like this that's an odd number of lugs, five lugs, what you'll do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. When you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this one, if we put a ruler on it, it'd be 4-1/2 inches.
So it's a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. But that should do it for a look at the Dexstar 15 inch by 6 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.

Product quality has this wheel looking new after a year of use. In my salty coastal area, having no corrosion issues because of the high quality paint finish, is a plus.
