Features to know about

Built for Real Towing Loads: 2,200-lb Capacity with DOT Compliance

This 15" x 6" steel wheel is made for serious trailer duty. It’s rated for 2,200 lbs and meets Department of Transportation standards, so it’s ready for the weight of a loaded cargo trailer or camper. The sturdy steel construction gives dependable strength when you’re hauling heavy gear or long distances on the highway.

Keeps Corrosion at Bay: Silver Powder Coat over E-Coat Primer

Moisture and road grime can eat away at lesser finishes, but this wheel holds up thanks to its corrosion-resistant silver powder coat layered over an e-coat primer. That combination seals the metal against rust and oxidation, keeping the wheel looking sharp and lasting longer through rain, humidity, or salt exposure.

Straightforward Fitment and Setup: 5 on 4-1/2 Pattern with Zero Offset

The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod has a common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, a pilot diameter of 3.19", and a zero offset. That means the wheel sits evenly over the hub with roughly equal spacing on each side—making backspacing just under 3". It’s compatible with standard 1/2"-20 wheel bolts for secure mounting.

Smooth Rolling Stability: Modular Steel Design with Balanced Dimensions

The modular layout of this steel wheel gives even weight distribution and a stable ride feel once mounted. With a 6" width, it pairs well with popular trailer tire sizes like 205/75R-15 or 225/75R-15, offering solid contact with the road and a balanced stance for confident towing mile after mile.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Bought these looking for good cheap replacement wheels for an old cattle trailer. These wheels are solid and well built. I bought five of them and each one was and still is straight and true. Even the paint is holding on better than expected. It’s been about a year now with topical farm abuse and no problems to speak of. Great product at a great price, thanks.

product has been totally satisfactory and has seen some extreme use

Purchased a set of 4 each of tires, wheels, and hub caps. Initial order was back ordered, so second order was a selection of available items. Somewhat disappointing, but good savings on second choice items. Shipping was fast, considering order came in 4 large, fairly heavy boxes by UPS and was 'free shipping'. Items were packed well and arrived in good shape. Products are of expected quality. I was happy to see that the Dexstar modular wheels are stamped Made In USA. Hoping the powder coating is a bit more durable than a painted finish. The tires are, well, tires. They have all the correct markings for size, DOT ratings, etc. They're factory siped, which I have done on my vehicle tires and like. These tires are replacing OE trailer tire that are 10 years to the weather, but have less than 1000 miles on them. The hub caps add a nice touch, black against silver wheels, and allow easy access to lugs and hubs for frequent checks.
As for price, I had my local tire dealer give me estimates on two occasions before placing my order with etrailer.com. Dealer wanted $580 for tires, balance (at my request), and stems (at my request). My Etrailer.com order came to $512, which included tires, wheels, and hubcaps! That's like saving on the tires AND getting the wheels and caps for FREE! Also, the shipping was free. Yes, I still need to have them mounted and balanced, which the dealer's estimate included, but I'll have to tow the trailer to the dealer in any case, and have some bearing and brake work done at the same time. OK, that's it. I'm fully satisfied with my order, and I'll be back!

1 year and zero issues. No signs of rust. So glad I went ahead and spend the money for these new wheels rather than fighting flat tires on old rims with rusted bead area. Etrailer's instructional videos, pictures with measurements, and question & answer section is second to none. I have a hard time finding this kind of customer service locally! Good job!

by:

I purchased a Dexstar 15" x 6" wheel. The first one I received had a manufacturing flaw that caused excessive runout. The center section was not welded squarely onto the rim, causing the rim to have excessive runout. The balancer called for 5.5oz on one side and 4 oz on the other. The runout was visually over 1/4".

etrailer did a great job remedying the problem, I had a new wheel sent to me quickly and had it in hand in three days. This wheel was better, but was not automotive quality. The tech tried to balance it on one balancer, and the runout caused an issue with that balancer. He took the wheel/tire to another balancer and got it balanced, but told me the wheel had some runout. I decided to accept the small amount of runout for my application.

My take-away is that the quality control of Dexstar wheels is suspect and needs improvement. When someone proudly claims "Made in the USA" on their product, they are implying that their product is of a superior quality to imported goods. A wheel that is straight and true is an essential part of quality and customer satisfaction.

Through all this, Etrailer couldn't have done a better job.

Purchased four Dexstar AM20537 to replace the original rims on an enclosed cargo trailer. Having good luck using Dexstar rims on my Airsteam I decided to get another set for the other trailer. I can say fortunately I have access to a tire machine and a GSP9700 Tire balancer. We all know that stamped steel wheels typically do not spin 100% true but two of the four rims order did have substantial run-out at the rim flange. One of the two rims, I made the best of it and balanced the assembly (A bit more weight than I would normally expect but considered the run-out to be "acceptable" .). The other rim could not be ignored as dynamically balancing the assembly would have required over 18.5 total oz of weight to get the wheel/tire to zero. I can say that Etrailer did a fantastic Job taking care of me and had a replacement wheel back to me in under a week. The replacement wheel was much better than the first with respect to run out. The welding splatter on the replacement wheel was "Brutal", in some areas it was almost sharp and required you to look carefully before you attempted to grab it. Its for a cargo trailer, so frankly do I care how smooth the paint finish is on this one wheel?.. Not so much... Still compared to my previous Dexstar experience, I was underwhelmed by Dexstar's manufacturing quality.

by:

Bought these wheels to upgrade our 2007 Casita Spirit Deluxe from 14" to 15" wheels and tires. These wheels were priced well and work pair nicely with the ST205/75R15 Load Range D tires we had installed on the wheels. The silver color modular wheels give a nice look to our trailer without spending a lot. The construction appears very well made and the silver paint is holding up well.

by:

These are classy looking wheels that look great on my trailer. Shipping was very fast...4 days including the thanksgiving holiday.
As always, it was a pleasure doing business with etrailer.

by:

I bought four of these wheels to replace rusty factory wheels on a horse trailer. On the first trip hauling my horses from KY to FL, one of these wheels cracked at the weld where the wheel is bent into a circle and welded. This caused me to have a flat tire on side of busy interstate. Time will tell if this was a "fluke" or if this brand has poor quality controls. Etrailer has been great to work with on obtaining a replacement wheel under warranty, although they required me to pay to ship the cracked wheel back to get replacement.

by:

Wheels came in quickly and were in perfect condition. I can't wait to mount tires on them and try them out.

I have had no issues with the wheel since purchased. Performs as expected.

by:

Best ever customer service

by:

As usual, the parts I get from etrailer are of the highest quality. I never pay extra, to get a better product, because they only handle the best. That being said, it was great to get a trailer wheel that is of heavy duty construction and can handle the tire and air pressure needed on this trailer. The paint finish and welding are great. And shipped in a box that prevented dings & scratches. Ready to go!

Hey Bill. We've got just over a dozen options for 15" steel wheels that'll work with the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit item # K2R35S, you were looking at. I have linked our selection below. • What Wheel Width Does Tire Size ST205/75-15 Fit
Hey Gary, so to determine the width of your current wheel would require either removing the tire and measuring the width of it or if you can find a part number on the wheel you could look it up that way. But at the end of the day your tire size of ST205/75-15 fits wheel widths of 5-6-1/2 inches so as long as the new wheel you go with is within that range you'd be fine and it wouldn't matter the width of what you have now. For example the part # AM20534 would work great if you have a 6...

The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - Silver Powder Coat # AM20537 has a zero offset. Because of that the wheel will have 3 inches on either side minus half the thickness of the mounting surface of the wheel. So your back spacing will be just slightly under 3 inches. If you are measuring for wheel clearance you will also need to determine 1/2 of the section width of the tire. That will be slightly larger than the 3 inch backspacing of just the wheel.
