I know you offer Universal U-volt brackets for roof top cargo cases, but I was wondering if these could be used for that purposes as well.

The U-Bolts and other hardware in the Replacement Hardware Kit # TH05603 are going to be much stronger than the Universal Crossbar Adapter # LR53FR you found. Since the U-Bolts have a larger metal surface to distribute the load across they are less likely to become damaged. The mounts you found only have a small hole for the hardware which is fine for some small roof mounted accessories but I would be hesitant on using them on a cargo box as they typically have thinner plastic on the bottom compared to some other accessories.
