What is your recommendation for a 275-60 20 tire? I will not necessarily be using them very often, but need to carry them to meet the intent of the law.

If you are just looking for a pair of cost-effective tire chains for your 275/60-20 size tires then I recommend using the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC2228. These chains use twist links in a ladder pattern which will get the job done and meet law requirements as they are rated for on and off road applications.
It's also worth mentioning that if you only plan on using chains in the event that you get stuck you may want to go with something a little more heavy duty like the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC3229S which features square links in the ladder pattern. Square links do a better job at chewing up ice and digging in than twist links do so these are definitely better for situations where you need them to get unstuck.
