Will this work on a 2 1/2 inch thick door?

The Bauer Products Compression Latch # BA67FR unfortunately is only going to work with 2" thick doors. You could potentially use the 4" version # BA87FR and cut the bolt down to fit your door and then use a die tool to cut threads further down the bolt as needed.
