Fit perfectly on my 2018 grand design momentum 351m

Exactly what we needed to replace the rear ramp latches on our 2018 Grand Design 399TH Toy Hauler. If you're reading this, and you have a typical toy hauler, do NOT think you need the 2" handles. You need these! The description is wrong, wrong, wrong. '4" Thick Ramp Doors'? Nothing to do with the thickness of the ramp door. Compare the bolts look and length before you order. These also come with the lock covers, which is good.

I'm giving it FOUR stars because these do NOT come with the necessary screws to mount them to the ramp door. You will need to save your old ones. (Note: The 2" product doesn't come with these screws, either.) I ended up using completely different screws.

Wrong “keyed alike” lock in which an extra charge I agreed to. When questioned I was informed you didn’t even have my key number. Then I found the depth of locking rod too short. 2 major strike outs.

I am sorry for any confusion that this has caused you. When it comes to "keyed alike" options, we are unable to key any of these Bauer locks to your pre-existing lock. When it states "keyed alike" and it doesn't allow you to put in a key number, then it most likely is the same way. We have no way to get the same key number as what you already have. So when purchasing these types of locks, you can "key alike" a bundle of locks that are purchased at the same time, but we are unable to key it alike to your pre-existing key. I apologize for any inconvenience, I recommend contacting the manufacturer if you are needing a new lock to match your pre-existing key and lock set.

Its a great latch, feels good in the hand. I really like the extra pad lock hole that in side of the handle, which protects the trailer from scratches from the lock when traveling.

These handles were what I was expecting. They are well made and seem heavy duty. The only thing I did do was file the locator dowel off the stem so I could fold the handle in the unlocked position so it wouldn’t hit the ground. It still would have worked as is but being able to fold in the unlocked position worked better for my trailer.

Hey Tim, thanks for the measurements. You'll need the Compression Latch for 2" Thick Ramp Doors item # BA67FR. This fits ramp doors that are up to 2" thick like the the Lippert compression latch you referenced. The item # BA87FR you were looking at fits a 4" thick ramp door but the only difference is the longer threaded pin. Will The Bauer Products Compression Latch BA87FR Replace A 2013 Southco Latch
Hello Greg, thanks for reaching out. The Bauer Products Compression Latch # BA87FR may work to replace your Southco latch, but without knowing the exact dimensions of your latch, I cannot say for sure. What I can tell you is the Bauer latch is 9-5/8" long x 2-1/8" thick, has a 5-3/8" long threaded shaft and has mounting holes 2" apart. Please compare this to your southco latch and see if it is a match.

Can The Lock Core Of A Bauer Products Compression Latch Be Removed And Replaced
Hey Todd, The lock cores for the Bauer Products Compression Latch # BA87FR unfortunately aren't built to be removed so the only way to get them out would be to drill out the lock core. From there you'd have to get a replacement lock core from Bauer that matches your current key code.

The Bauer Products Compression Latch # BA67FR unfortunately is only going to work with 2" thick doors. You could potentially use the 4" version # BA87FR and cut the bolt down to fit your door and then use a die tool to cut threads further down the bolt as needed.

Can The Bauer Products Compression Latch BA87FR Be Keyed Alike To Preexisting Bauer Locks?
So this answer will sound weird, but no to the first and yes to the second. What I mean by that is that we cannot match the locks/keys with previous ones, but we can match the locks/keys when ordered in batches on our website. If you wanted all the # BA87FR latches to match (one key to rule them all, so to say), you would need to order a quantity of 4 and select "Keyed Alike" in the drop down above the "Add to Cart" button. Will The Bauer Padlock # BA46VR Fit Inside The Handle Of The Bauer Compression Latch # BA87FR
I went out to the warehouse and grabbed the Bauer Products Compression Latch # BA87FR and Bauer Products Padlock # BA46VR and was able to get the padlock to sit inside of the handle. It is a tight fit to get the body of the padlock in the handle but it can be done. Both the latch and the padlock only come keyed alike with other latches or padlocks so you would have to have a professional locksmith rekey the locks to have them alike.
