Our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e25TR will provide you with the best ground clearance on your 2024 Subaru Outback. Our receiver has a hidden cross tube so only the receiver portion hangs below your rear fascia as seen in the image below.

I recommend installing the 4-Way # C56040 when you install the receiver. This is the most common connector found on most small trailers you might tow. It also can be used with Auxiliary Lights # C53201 should your hitch mounted accessory impair the view of your tail lights.

How much lower does the receiver hang on the e-trailer hitch vs. the OEM hitch?

@ColinS I can tell you when we installed our receiver on a 2024 Subaru Outback it ended up with a hitch height of 16" to the inside top of the receiver tube. We have not had an Outback in our facility with a factory receiver to measure its height. You may be able to get this information from a Subaru dealer.
