Why Would Pace Edwards Tonneau Cover Pop Open on Highway

Question:
I have had this cover installed now for 11 days. Over the last couple of days during my 60 mile commute to work, the cover is managing to slide open a couple of inches. It seems locked in place when I leave, but somehow during the drive it slides open. Any thoughts on what to look at as to why this would happen?

Expert Reply:
This problem is due to the rails of your Pace Edwards tonneau not being tapered properly with the shims that came with it. Use the amount of shims that allows it to slightly catch when you go to open it almost to point you have to give it a little nudge to get it to open.

I have this same problem and I have two shims on each side on my F450 (2026) and it still opens when I ride on dirt roads. I just got it can you help ? Or send more shims if you think that would help? Thanks, Steve
