When you need your gear safe from weather and theft, the RetraxONE MX delivers. The pop-up locking handle lets you secure the cover at any point along the rails, so you can lock down smaller items while leaving space for oversized loads. Closed and latched, it works with your locked tailgate to fully protect your cargo. The polycarbonate panels and flat, concealed locking handle keep everything hidden and shielded from prying eyes, while weather stripping and foam seals block out moisture, dust, and snow.
Opening and closing the cover takes almost no effort thanks to sealed ball-bearing rollers that glide inside the rails. There’s no binding, no need for lubrication, and no pull straps or snaps to fight with. The cover retracts smoothly into a compact canister that sits at the bulkhead, using a spiral track system that prevents the panels from rubbing against each other. It makes quick work of loading and unloading, even when you’re handling it with one hand.
The RetraxONE MX uses high-quality polycarbonate (Lexan) reinforced with 5/8" thick aluminum I-beams spaced every 4-3/4". It’s impact resistant, UV-treated, and rated for 200 lbs of evenly distributed weight. Designed to perform in temperatures from -50°F to 200°F, it won’t crack in winter or bubble in the summer sun. The matte black finish resists scratches and stays cooler to the touch than metal covers on hot days, so it looks good and works hard year after year.
Rain and wash water are directed away through two drain tubes built into the canister. The tubes route through existing holes in the truck bed to keep the retracted cover dry and prevent mildew. Combined with the overlapping tailgate lip and weather seals around the edges, this drainage keeps your bed and gear cleaner and drier through storms and car washes alike.
Side rails sit just 1" above the bed for a sleek, flush finish that complements the truck’s lines and still clears most fifth-wheel hitches. Installation is straightforward—no drilling required. The rails clamp to the bed, the canister bolts in place, and the drain tubes route through the factory holes. It’s a clean fit that adds protection and style without taking over your bed space.

Great Tonneau
Great cover, not a minutes trouble after a year on the truck.
Everything was on time and good quality. Easy to install, but you need to open the lock before installing the rail. If the lock is in the lock or down position the rail won’t go on. Other than that it was easy and it looks great on the truck!
A little challenging at first with the directions but with my neighbor helping we pulled through. 3-4 hours of slow methodical reading and working. Very nice product looks great and works as advertised.
The unit shipped to my location with over a months delay. This was too late for our last camping trip of2 2021, which I was counting on using it. I installed this year instead. Some of the tapped holes need to be re-tapped. Also, drain plugs were a little tricky in that the hose interfered with that latching mechanism, so they did not latch correctly at first. The roll-up into the box does not seem as smooth as the videos seem to show. Roll down to close is smooth.
We love this cover! I will most likely be ordering another one because unfortunately I got trapped in a terrible hail storm and the cover was damaged. No way any covered would have survived.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability. I like the ability to cover, lock and latch in partially closed position to help support large items. I'm sure I'm getting a little bit better gas mileage because of the drag reduction off the bed. The only drawback: the space that the canister takes up reduces your bed size. It hasn't impacted me yet as I have the larger bed size. If you have a bed extender, that will help. I definitely like the retractable better that the folding ones.

It is extremely hard to open and close even with grease on the rails and proper alignment.

This is my second Retrax poly cover. i had my first one for about 10 years and it worked well the entire time. I finally purchased a new truck and had to pick another cover and picked this one again for the quality and durability.

One year update: My RetraxONE MX still looks and performs good. For my application (fifth wheel protection) it was a good choice.
