Question:
I have an original Rack n Roll trailer pre Yakima the shocks look greasy, does that mean they failed? And lastly, my typical loads are 100-200 lbs. Would the HD shocks be too rigid and less forgiving on my kayaks? Photo attached

Expert Reply:
Your current shocks are leaking fluid which is a sign they have failed. The oil inside the shock which provides the dampening is most likely gone to point the shock is no longer functioning and the suspension is really bouncy.
The HD shock kit part # Y08110 would replace what you have now and will allow the suspension to work like it needs to. It would not be rated too high for the 100-200 lb you'll have on your trailer.
