Like the trailer and tent combination. The left tire sucked in the license plate within the first 5 miles of driving (I am not the first to mention this in a rating). Wish it came with a swing-arm wheel on the tongue for easier maneuvering. We ordered an after market one and installed. Sometimes the ladder doesn't stick to its height because it doesn't have a notch for the trailer height - it is made for a car or truck height. This places undo stress on the tent bed hinges.
After one year of long mileage use the Yakima EasyRider Trailer has performed well. I had to replace one taillight. The fender screws need to be checked and tightened occasionally. I tow a Hobie Pro Angler and a Hobie Outback.
Great, well made trailer. It was not too hard to assemble, although an extra pair of hands helped. It probably took 3 hours. Make sure you have a torque wrench and the proper lug wrench. I ordered the spare tire and rack as an afterthought, so go ahead an get one.
Bought the Yakima EasyRider Double Decker Trailer, associated Spare Tire kit, and the Yakima Cinch Straps last year and we are extremely pleased. EasyRider assembled easily in an afternoon. EasyRider also doubles as an outdoor storage rack for our kayaks that we can move easily by hand across grass. We carry our 4 Pungo kayaks, two 12' on the bottom level and two 10.5' on the top... lots of positive comments on this easy setup when we pull into a launch site (we always recommend checking it out on etrailer.com). We use two sets of Yakima Cinch Straps (4 straps in total) to hold everything down and they are just long enough for the slightly wider 10.5' kayaks. Took our whole setup from the top western corner of Pennsylvania, down through the winding mountainous roads of West Virginia / Virginia, and out onto the Outer Banks.... EasyRider Trailer and Yakima Cinch Straps performed absolutely perfectly on all road conditions. EasyRider was even easy enough to unhitch and maneuver by hand in sand at access points on Sound side of OBX. Yes it is a more expensive trailer, but we feel it makes up for that in easy of use and less frustration. Plus the EasyRider offers options... when the kids move out and take their kayaks, mom and dad can buy the compatible Yakima bike racks to mount on the top level and we can easily transport two kayaks and two bikes.
Security: We use a 1/2" coated steel cable that is 15' long, which we lace through the kayak carry handles and wrap around the trailer cross piece, and use a padlock through the cable loops. We also use a padlock on the EasyRider's ball hitch lever to lock onto our vehicle... this thing is just that easy to move!
I had a few issues getting all the parts with the original delivery but everything missing was sent with no issues. The Yakima Easy Rider Trailer is an excellent product! Everything went together easily. Recently also ordered the spare tire that is not part of the trailer package.
The trailer was easy to assemble, the parts were all present, well packaged and easily identifiable. The trailer is excellent quality and perfectly fits my 127 Bonafide Kayak and my needs.

This must be the best off the shelf kayak trailer available. I have pulled this trailer loaded all over the upstate NY area, then from NY to SC. I just got back from a fishing trip to Mississippi with my 2 kayaks. It pulls like a dream at all speeds. I have a Hobie PA 12 rigged for fishing, a Yakima rod box on the top and I carry my wife’s Hobie Passport on the bottom. I pull the trailer with my Tacoma and it doesn’t noticeably affect my gas mileage on long trips. On the bottom I use some foam kayak pads to protect the second kayak. My only wish is there was a better way to secure the kayaks to the trailer on the bottom. Other that that and the price this is a perfect kayak trailer in my opinion for someone who needs to purchase an off the shelf trailer.

My purchase of the Easyrider Double Decker was an upgrade from my Yakima Rack and Roll (R&R) trailer which we enjoyed for 7 years before we needed more capacity. We hauled the R&R back and forth from Michigan to Florida and several trips in the north for 7 years. It was easily sold to some fellow kayakers. I was happy to find the Easyrider when I needed a little more capacity. I added a cargo rack to the bottom level to carry our rolled-up inflatable SUPs, paddles, life jackets and rowing gear for the long trips and can use that rack for carrying the inflated SUPs for short trips. The upper deck carries two kayaks and two bikes. The Easy rider is a little longer that the R&R but still pulls with ease and the folding tongue allows us to store it in our carport. After our first roundtrip year with the Easyrider, we are very happy with our purchase.
Great product. Very easy to build. The instructions were very easy to follow and fit and finish of parts are great.
We love our trailer. We got it to get out car-top tent at a more accessible height and to carry our camp boxes to get them out of the car. It makes exploring much easier since we can park the trailer and go. We do not use it for a kayak, so we do not need the long tong. It would be so great if you made a shorter extension for people like us, so that there is not so much space between the trailer and the car.

The trailer handles well at highway speeds. There have been absolutely no problems with the trailer including the tires. It’s great how the tongue folds back to save space.
