Trailer Wiring Harness that Fitts 2015 Mini Countryman

I have a 2015 mini Cooper countryman And I need to wire it for my kayak trailer. Is this the kit I need for sure ? And it will it hurt my minis electrical system in any way ? Thank you for your time :
