Troubleshooting Weak Braking With A Blue Ox Patriot Supplemental Braking System
Updated 08/29/2023 | Published 08/28/2023 >
Question:
Following up on questions, others have mentioned. Towing a jeep, wrangler, sensitivity and force are both maxed out at nine. When I firmly break, I may get a little bit of the triangle showing brakes were engaged. I mean maybe a quarter of an inch. I’ve use manual brake And I can’t feel it slowing down at all or pulling me back. Are there other adjustments I can make? Thank you.

The Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System # BLU37TR only has a sensitivity and power setting so if you have yours maxed out and still get weak braking the system is most likely too far away from the brake pedal and isn't able to extend far enough to give you more powerful braking. I recommend moving your seat forward more so that the unit is able to activate the brake pedal sooner and harder. From there you can test the sensitivity and power levels until you get to a comfortable setting.
