Compatibility fo the Softride Bike Rack Extender Bar with the Yakima Double Down 2 Bike Rack

Question:

Does the externder bar fit into a Yakima Double Down 2 bike rack? I have a 09 Winnebago View RV with a spare wheel on the rear end and need about 12-13 clearance from the end of the 2 receiver to the back of the spare wheel. Am trying to find some combo that will work.

The Softride Bike Rack Extender Bar, item # SR26033, is only intended for the 2 inch Softride Dura and Versa bike racks, and only provides up to 8 inches of extension.

I would recommend using the Hitch Extender For 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver 14 inches, item # HE12, to provide the clearance you will need to mount your bike rack. Remember that when using an adapter the overall capacity of your hitch is reduced by 50 percent. Along with this extender I would recommend using an anti-rattle device where the extender goes into the receiver hitch to reduce noise and movement of the Yakima bike rack. Part # 63232 Wedges itself between the receiver and hitch gear to take up play and eliminate irritating rattle.
