The best hitch for your 2023 Mazda CX-9 is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch item # 76020. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Mazda with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 4,500 lbs towing capacity and a 675 lbs maximum tongue weight.

I really like this hitch because the crosstube mounts behind the rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" receiver visible. This not only looks better but it also helps with ground clearance.

I have attached a couple of pictures below along with an installation video so you can see how to get this hitch set up and what it will look like once installed.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # 119250KIT and a ball mount kit item # C45534.

I also recommend using the No-Drill Mount Bracket item # 18136 and the item # C42CR to secure the 4-way connector to your hitch. This will put it in an easy to reach spot and prevent the risk of it falling onto the road.
