How Tall is Jounce Spring in Air Lift Air Bag Kit with Jounce Springs
Published 07/26/2023 >
Question:
I currently have the Timbren Suspension longer bumpstops on my ram 2500. The ride is too rough when unloaded. I am interested in the air lift 5000 ultimate with internal jounce, but I would like to know the height of the internal jounce. I want to make sure I would have a couple of inches of travel between the jounce and the frame of my truck. Can you provide that measurement for me? Clearly, I am concerned with the ride when unloaded.

Expert Reply:
The internal jounce bumper of the Air Lift air bag kits like the part # AL88289 is only about half the height of the air bag so it's not going to affect ride quality at all unlike the Timbrens. The Air Lift jounce bumper is mainly for in the unlikely situation where the bag were to fail the suspension would have something to support it instead of just fully compressing. So you'll never even get onto the jounce bumper unless you have a bag failure which means ride quality won't be affected.
