Does Install of Replacement Return Spring for Power Gear External Spring Jack Require Removing Jack
Published 07/25/2023 >
Question:
I have a 2000 Fleetwood Bounder 32H with Power-Gear leveling system. I read all the QandAs on replacing the return springs. Would like a little clarification on return spring replacement. First off. Is it required to remove the Jacks from the RV to replace the return springs? Just had the jacks out to rebuild the cylinders. Not wanting to pull them again. Second. Connor L, says Basically, you just need to unscrew the top bolt. Is that the top bolt into the hydraulic cylinder or the top bolt into the spring itself?

As long as you have good enough access to the jack legs you can leave them installed on your trailer when swapping the springs part # LC359434. I'd recommend putting something under the foot when the spring is off.
The top bolt that Conner referred to is the one at the top of the spring and not at the top of the jack.
