Question:

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman. I have the 51120 controller and the 51457 connector cord. Should this be plug and play or does the truck need programmed. The paperwork says something about a software update but my ram dealership acts like they dont have a clue. If I engage the controller it will stop the trailer but seems no communication between the brake pedal and the controller.

Thank you for your purchase from etrailer of the Curt Discovery Brake Controller # C84VV and Wiring Adapter # C51458, we appreciate it. Your 2019 Ram 1500's computer does not need to be flashed/programmed when using this controller it will be plug and play. The exception is if you are replacing the factory brake controller, as you would then need to do so.
