The Discovery NEXT keeps towing easy with time-delayed control that activates your trailer brakes at a preset power level. You set the gain anywhere from 0.5 to 9.9 in 0.5 increments, then fine-tune the load from 1 to 9 to decide how quickly the brakes reach full power. Once dialed in, every stop feels consistent whether you’re easing into traffic or hauling down a hill. It works with up to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and handles both electric and electric-over-hydraulic setups.
Finding room for a brake controller under the dash can be a fight, but this one’s compact—just 4" long, 3-1/8" wide, and only 1" tall. The included bracket lets it mount flush to the dash at any angle so it’s always within reach but never in the way. Because it’s not inertia-based, you can place it level, sideways, or tilted and it still performs exactly as designed.
The large LED display shows your settings in clear numbers and letters so you can check them at a glance. Day or night, it stays visible without glare thanks to adjustable brightness and a dedicated night mode. If something needs attention, you’ll see error messages right on the screen so troubleshooting is straightforward.

When traffic gets unpredictable, the pinch-trigger manual override is quick to grab without taking your eyes off the road. It lets you activate trailer brakes independently for smoother stops or quick corrections when the trailer starts to push. The lever’s size and placement make it easy to find by feel alone.
Installation is as direct as it gets. Use a Curt custom plug-in adapter (sold separately) if your vehicle has a factory tow port, or hardwire using the included pigtail harness. No special mounting restrictions or calibration steps—just connect, test, and tow. Once installed, auto-sleep mode kicks in after 5 minutes of inactivity to prevent battery drain.

Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendl y!
Like its compact size and simple operat ion.
excellent service and delivery.
Tested . Work fine and advertised
Took about 10 minutes to install. Have not made all the adjustments yet, but is easy to understand.
I only towed with it once and then I sold the truck I installed it in. I pulled the two axle camper bought 350 miles and it worked fine.
Connected to the OEM plug perfectly, works great on our Sunset 16 ft trailer.
Purchased this controller for a 2004 Toyota Tundra Limited and it has preformed perfectly! I haven't had any complaints. It reacts and adjusts quickly. Along with the plug and play function there's not much more I can say. Great product!

Love to hear it, Steve! What are you towing behind your Tundra?
Works well on a older truck , the new proportional controllers didn’t seem to be very effective on a older brake system.
