I'm assuming you're referring to the Replacement Operator Mechanism for MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus or MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vents # MA10-20281K-1AF.

If you are, you're going to need to remove the lid and rain shield first to get access to your vent's frame. From here, you will need to remove the screws under the front edge of the lid that connect to the bracket. Now you'll just swap the mechanisms out and put everything back in reverse order.

Attached is an exploded diagram of the vent frame for you to reference as well.
