Question:
Hello, Im interested in a WDH for a 4000lb trailer, tongue/hitch weight of about 400-500 lbs. I have been looking at the Fastway E2 Trunnion on your site, and a couple similar. Ive also looked at the Andersen WDH that uses tension chains instead of bars. I am looking for lighter weight and lower noise. Im curious to your insights, thanks!

If you're dealing with a lot of sway then a friction-style WDH, like the Fastway E3 # FA92-00-0600, will give you the best support, but you'll have to deal with a lot of noise. We don't currently offer the Andersen WDH so I can't really speak to its effectiveness but the we do offer a few chain hanger style WDH's that can offer you more support and be a bit quieter. One that I really like is the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BXW0550.
This hitch is going to include the shank and hitch ball so you won't have to source them separately. The spring bars connect to the trailer frame brackets using chains for a much quieter ride. It comes with a tool to easily hook on the chains and then spin the bracket to lock the chains in place. I've installed this system more times than I can count and can say without a doubt that it's one of the easiest to install on the market and does a great job.
