Replacement 10 Inch Electric Brakes For Older Hub/Drum

Updated 07/24/2025 | Published 06/28/2023

Question:

Hello, I have the same KH 84444 drum, MAX. DIA. 10.09, however mine are electric. Do you carry the internal parts for these?

There are no internal parts for your brakes so you'll have to replace them with a new set. Since you have a 10 inch drum and need electric brakes we do have an option, so long as your drum is also 2-1/4" wide (or wider), and you have a 4-bolt mounting flange that has bolt holes which measure 2-7/8" apart on center like Mounting Flange # 4-35. If you have that you can use the following:

- Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10" # 23-468-469

That drum will not slide all the way down on the brake.

@Karen That's good to know! The KH 84444 drum was manufactured by Kelsey-Hayes which has been gone for quite some time now, so information on them is pretty scarce. How much of the brake is still exposed when the drum is put on? These are still out there and we will take as much info as we can get for them!
