Which Kuat Bike Rack Is Better For E-Bikes, The NV 2.0 Or Sherpa 2.0

Question:

The weight capacity difference in the NV 2.0 and the Sherpa doesnt affect me now, HOWEVER, in the future, I may purchase an e-bike My road bike weighs 20#. What weight range is an ebike? I know they vary but am thinking a cruiser bike for the neighborhood or greenway trails.

There are e-bikes that weigh over a 100lbs but bike racks options with enough capacity are pretty limited after the 60lbs. If I had to choose between the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SH22G and Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # NV22G with the plan being that you'd eventually get another e-bike I'd have to choose the # NV22G for its higher per bike capacity.

The NV 2.0 has a 60lb per bike capacity while the Sherpa only has a 40lb per bike capacity. Because of this the NV is a bit heavier at 52lbs compared the Sherpa's 32lbs. Both racks have very similar specs with only a few slight differences and both racks have a wheel mount design so you wouldn't want to get an e-bike with fenders as the mounting arms will interfere with them. If you end up getting one with larger tires you can also pick up an adapter kit # APBK.
