Question:
Hi team - I have a log splitter with 1 straight spindles that measure 3-3/8 long plus 1 of threads for a total length of 4-3/8. Will AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-1K work with this spindle and allow the castle nut to tighten down enough such that the cotter pin will make it thru?

Expert Reply:
The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K will fit the spindles on your log splitter, and allow you to tighten down the castle nut so your cotter pin fits. These use # L44643 bearings with a 1" inner diameter and have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. If you need 5 on 4-1/2 instead you can use the # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-1K.
