Should There Be a Washer Between Outer Bearing and Castle Nut on etrailer 2,000 lb Trailer Axle

When installing an idler or brake hub on this 2000 lb axle is a washer necessary between the castle nut and the outer bearing? None were shipped with the axle or the hubs I ordered. Thanks!

It is not required to install a washer between the outer bearing and the castle nut on the Trailer Idler Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles part # e48GR. That said, it's not a bad idea to use one and I recommend this to ensure there is no damage to the outer bearing. For this, we have the Washer For 1" Spindle part # SW1000.
