Looking for Hub for 1999 Jayco Qwest 10

Updated 02/16/2026 | Published 02/05/2026

Question:

I have a new to me 1999 Jayco Qwest 10. It has a 4x4 wheel hub, all original. I pulled the wheel but the bearings do not have ANY Markings on it. Can you confirm or recommend a fully assembled replacement hub?

Hey Ryan, most likely what you have is a 2,000 lb axle and the correct replacement hub would b the part # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K which also has the correct 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern you need but we still would want to verify to be sure. Since you don't have the bearing numbers you would need to measure the diameter of the spindle where the bearings ride. If the diameter is exactly 1 inch this would be the correct replacement hub. Most likely this is what you have but let me know either way.

For the price to me it was a no brainer to buy the hubs ready to install. Had them installed in less than one hour. I have put about 10,000 miles on the trailer and no problems. I also bought the radial tires to replace biasply tires and am very pleased with them.

I bought the CE Smith CE13100 hubs in the case. They are fully loaded with grease ready to go the bearings are L44643 for a 1 Inch diameter up to 2500lb axle 4x4 bolt pattern. Be sure to seat the bearings all the way on the axle, then back the axle nut off so the hub spins freely with some resistance but not too fast, and insert cotter pin in axle hole when you see the first opening of the castle nut when you back it off a little bit. I used these hubs on an old '72 boat trailer but if you have these dimensions for your axle and hub pattern, I'm sure these are the bearings you will need. James M.

The manufacturer confirmed this: BEARING,OUTER/INNER 1.69 10" DEXTER AND KELSEY HAYES BRAKES FOLD DOWN LM44649(FD 1.063 BEARING) Is that still the part?

@Ryan Based on those bearing numbers and fact you said brakes the hub/drum you would need is the part # 8-173-16UC3-EZ. Then for brake assemblies you would need the part # AKEBRK-2.
