Question:

I want to install a hitch for my Kuat Transfer on an MB GLC 300 SUV, never for trailer use. I’ve seen postings about wiring issues and Mercedes electronics. This wouldn’t affect my needs, would it? What would you recommend for a hitch?

Since you only want to carry your Kuat Transfer like the # KU84FR there is no need to be concerned about wiring. If you did want to install a wiring harness like the # 118747, I still wouldn't expect there to be an issue since you aren't splicing into the wiring on the vehicle.

I'm not sure what the year is of your Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 SUV so I will give you two recommendations for a hitch. If you have a 2016-2021 I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e35AR. This hitch features a bolt-on installation, concealed cross tube, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. It also has a matte black powder coat finish for an OEM look. If you have a 2022 then the only option is the Curt # C84ER.

I have attached installation videos for both hitches for your reference. Since we didn't have an installation video for the etrailer hitch I used one for the Curt on a 2021 which follows the exact same process.
