Question:

Hello - I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee 80th Anniversary Edition. It has black plastic flush rail. I have read conflicting posts regarding of I can put a roof rack directly on this vs. if I need to replace my rails with different ones and then attach the roof rack. Are you able to provide definitive information on what will work for my roof system?

We do have some roof rack solutions for your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the matte black flush rails. They mount via clamps in the door jamb (just as if you didn't have any rails) so if you're wanting a roof rack that mounts directly to those rails you will need to swap it out for something different.

The clamp mounting is perfectly safe so I personally wouldn't change out the rails. For your current setup I recommend picking up the Yakima JetStream system which includes the following:
