Recommended Hitch for Tongue Weight Capacity on a 2020 Subaru Forester
Updated 05/06/2023 | Published 05/05/2023 >
Question:
Is it harmful to put a hitch on that has a tongue weight and capacity higher than manufacturer recommended even if it is just used for a bike rack. I wouldnt pull anything. Just a bike rack with 4 bikes. Tongue weigh 176 capacity 1500. I dont want any waranty issues.

It won't hurt your vehicle or cause any warranty issues by installing a hitch with a higher capacity than your Forester. The etrailer Hitch item # e83ZR has a tongue weight that is rated higher than your 2020 Subaru Forester's but this is common amongst hitch manufacturers.
