Replacement Rooftop AC Unit For A 2008 Fleetwood Pulse 24A Motorhome

Question:
I have a 2008 Fleetwood Pulse 24A with RVP Series 8000 AC. The unit is starting to not blow very cold air and am wondering if I need to replace. Do you have a recommendation for a model that would work with existing thermostat and ducting? The BTU size is 13,500. Thanks for your assistance.

If you're not getting cool air the refrigerant in your AC is most likely leaking out, which at your motorhome's age is pretty much expected but isn't a fixable issue. You can replace just the rooftop unit with the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # ACCOL135 to avoid having to replace the air distribution box and thermostat but you'll have to first figure out the connector style that you have. You'll either have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector (pictured below). Most likely your unit has a 9-pin connector so the adapter included in this kit will make it an easy plug-and-play replacement.
To find out what you have you will need to remove the cover of your air distribution box to gain access to your controller. Some times the controller can also be mounted inside of the rooftop unit, which you can see in the video I have attached below. If this is the case you won't be able to mount it into a new unit and would have to attach it to air distribution box in some manner instead.
Once you find your controller you can then unhook the wire harness hanging down from the rooftop unit and check the number of pins. If you end up only having a six pin then you won't need the adapter and can just use part # ACDOM135 instead to get the rooftop unit and start capacitor.
