Will RV Air Conditioner Replace Coleman Mach El Air Conditioner

I have an old Coleman Mach el and want to know what I can use to directly replace this unit

In order to find out if there is a replacement air conditioner that will allow you to use your existing Coleman Mach El wiring and distribution box you need to know what model it is.

I have added documents from Advent which show the compatibility of their units with the different models of Coleman air conditioners so you will need to compare your model with this to see if it will work. If so you can use any of the following as replacements:

- Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman - 13,500 Btu - White # ACCOL135

- Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman - 13,500 Btu - Black # ACCOL150

- Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman - 15,000 Btu - White # ACCOL135B

- Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman - 15,000 Btu - Black # ACCOL150B

Otherwise you would need to replace your entire unit as well as the distribution box with one of the following options:

- 13,500 Btu: Advent Air RV Air Conditioner with Air Distribution Box - White # ACM135C or Black # ACM135BC

- 15,00 Btu: Advent Air RV Air Conditioner with Air Distribution Box - White # ACM150C or Black # ACM150BC

@Craig I wouldn't recommend using any of these Advent Air AC units to replace a Coleman Mach. We've found these adapter style AC units aren't reliable enough that we can guarantee all of the functions of the AC unit will work. Best option is replacing the entire setup including the vent assembly and wall thermostat.

@JamesonC - for what it’s worth mine was AC only and it’s working well on my 2011 Avalanche!

@Craig That's good to hear! Since finding out about the issues these kits have its been a bit of a nightmare trying to sift through what works and what doesn't. I am glad yours works but we've found that it's pretty inconsistent but without any rhyme or reason sometimes the adapters work just fine.
