Yes where the pin goes into the awning mine broke right there. I’m assuming I will have to take the cap off and put the key on the end of the pin inside the awning?

Since you were looking at the Regal style idler head # LC672052 I'm assuming you need to replace the idler head pin on your Solera awning. You can remove the old pin and install # LC27WD for a replacement. If by key you mean a cotter pin, then yes assuming that is the style you have. Otherwise it will be a wax screw. Make sure to inspect the head for other possible damage. Lippert recommends replacing the entire idler head to ensure everything aligns correctly.
