How to Remove and Reinstall New Pin Solera Pin LC93FR

Question:

On the Q solera Awining Head with a bent pin was stated you can not buy the pin alone. That is not correct part Lc93fr. I would like to see how to change the bent one..

To remove the old pin you'll need to remove the cover, remove the two retaining pins, and then slide the old pin out. To install the # LC93FR you'd just reverse the process.

Is it possible to extend the pin by 1 1/2"? What type of material is the pin made of?

@RickJ There isn't a way to extend the part # LC93FR that we are aware of. It's made of steel.

@JamesonC We have a steel fabrication shop and will have our welders cut them and add 1 1/2" to each one. I just wanted to know what type of steel it is to use the proper welding wire. I'm assuming it's A36 which is the most common. I'll send you a picture afterwards.

@Rickj It is a mild steel with a zinc coating. A36 would be a safe bet as best I could get from Solera is that info. Are you using this for a different application and that's why it needs to be longer?
