What Roof Rack System Is Needed For A 2022 Ford Escape With A Naked Roof

I have a Ford Escape which currently has no talks or roof rack. What roof system would I need to install to Mount this tent on my roof?

Unfortunately since your 2022 Ford Escape doesn't have factory mounts the only roof racks that would be compatible would be the clamp-on style that mounts on the door frame. Because it's not actually mounting to the supports on your roof you wouldn't be able to use a rooftop tent.

The only solution would be to use a trailer with crossbars, like the # Yakima EasyRider Double Decker Trailer # Y08129. This trailer was designed specifically for this purpose, but I've seen a lot of people just get a small 2,000lb trailer and mount a ladder rack to it for much cheaper. With this option you'd also have plenty of space to store other items under the ladder rack on the trailer.

I know this isn't exactly what you were hoping for but it's the only real option for your vehicle. If you have another vehicle you'd like to use for the tent instead I'd be happy to see if there's a roof rack option available to make it work.
