Trailer Tire Upgrade Fitment on a Magic Tilt MT16W 1250 Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a Magic Tilt MT16W 1250 boat trailer. It has 4.80x12ST C bias ply tires on it with a 5 on 4.5 rim. I would like to upgrade to a radial tire. The Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D, Item # AM10130 looks like a viable option. It states it is for 12 inch x 4 inch rims. I dont know how wide my current rims are and cant measure because there are tires on the rims. Can you tell me if all 12 inch rims are 4 inch wide? If not, will the AM10130 tires fit properly on any 12 inch rim?

Yes, all trailer 12" wheels are 4" wide so the Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10130 will work perfectly with your wheels.

This tire is about 1" wider than your current tire so just be sure you'll still be able to maintain about 2" of clearance between the sidewall of your tire and the trailer frame to prevent trailer tread wear. The clearance will be reduced by 1/2" since we're only concerned about clearance on the back side of the tire.
